Do you have a pair of patent leather shoes that have a few scuffs or blemishes that need a little TLC?

Patent-leather shoes are wonderful and easy to care for. They are also a great shoe for everyday wear, special events and even parties. These shoes are known for developing some ugly little scuff marks, especially around the heel and toe area but don’t let that scare you because I have some great advice to help you get your patent leather shoes scuff free and looking new again.

You could always purchase a commercial patent leather cleaner from your local shoe store or cobbler to help in removing scuffs from patent leather but there are a couple of inexpensive ways below that will tell you how to remove scuff marks from patent leather and how to shine patent leather shoes.

If you have some mineral oil around the house you are in luck. Take a clean, soft cloth and apply a small amount of mineral oil to the cloth. Gently rub the scuffed area with a light amount of pressure until you remove the scuff marks from the patent leather. Presto! no more scuff mark, now you can take a fresh clean cloth and buff your patent leather shoes to a shine. If you want to take it a step further skip this step and grab yourself some pledge furniture polish and spray the shoe lightly then buff, shining your patent leather shoes.

Pledge furniture polish is better than any patent leather polish that they make and it offers great protection, helps keep your patent leather waterproof and adds great shine to your patent leather.

There are several other products that may be around your home that can help in removing scuffs from patent leather just like mineral oil. A few of them are petroleum jelly, acetone free nail polish remover, vegetable oil, toothepaste or some shaving cream. All of these are great and inexpensive options for patent leather shoe care.

I also found a great video on youtube that you can use as a guide that will show you how to remove scuff marks from patent leather and care for your patent leather shoes.
