- Quentin Tarantino, a great producer and director of several hit movies like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Planet Terror and many more recently sat down to spend a little “QT” with the New York Times’ T magazine. T magazine which is primarily known as a style publication, had a photo shoot with Tarantino and Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger, including one notable shot where Tarantino is wearing a pair of women’s high heels, holding a bra in one hand and a glass of what seems to be liquor in the other hand.

If you don’t remember some of his movies or why Tarantino is a great filmaker, check out “The Tarantino Mixtape”. Created by Eclectic Method it contains a decade and a half’s worth of artful violence and unforgettable dialogue. Be careful because it does contain some NSFW language and images. I think I might just have a Kill Bill movie festival today. [popwatch]

- Some critics call it a dated practice in a modern world, but 20/20’s Sonya Wilson puts you in the judge’s chair, with an exclusive all-access pass behind the scenes of Miss World New Zealand. 20/20 will follow 17 women desperate to take out the crown, while mastering the highest of heels and everything else from beach beauty to top model and talent competitions. As the pressure mounts, the nerves, the sequins and the sparkle powder keep increasing. So why do they do it? Well, as one contestant tells 20/20, the pageant is her way of proving girls really can do anything. [tvnz]

- Michelle Obama is in the news for her fashion sense but this time it’s coming with a little scrutiny from the media. Sporting a pair of $540 Lanvin sneakers(pictured above) with her J. Crew cardigan and capris, she has some people in a tizzy. I guess the first lady’s fashion faux pas came from her not matching like she normally does. While her designer sneakers were gray and pink, her sweater was a gold argyle style.
“They’re shoes,” the First Lady’s reps told reporters, enough said. However, right-winged media alluded to an air of recession insensitivity and claimed her footwear was “certainly not a reflection of the poor economy,” said FOX News’ Noelle Watters.
But where was Fox News when Cindy McCain was drenched in high-end designer fabrics at every appearance she made? Fox hardly mentioned her one outfit that totaled more than $300,000, so let’s stop the hate and explore the facts. [livesteez]
